CRAWFORD COUNTY TREASURER
The County Treasurer is a State Constitutional Officer, whose directive is taken from various sections of Wisconsin Statutes and Crawford County Codes and Ordinances. It is a partisan office, elected for a four year term.
The County Treasurer’s Office is to provide efficient, courteous service and maintain accurate records, while upholding the fiduciary and statutory responsibilities required of the office.
Responsibilities of the County Treasurer:
Unclaimed County Funds
The Crawford County Treasurer has posted names and list of amounts of all Crawford County Checks that have been issued throughout the years, but have never cashed by the payee. Verified claims will be paid by check and mailed to your current address. Claims are processed and reviewed in the order received, and checks will arrive in four to six weeks after filing a claim. No one will receive cash at the time of making a claim. This list is subject to change based on previous claims and/or any replacement checks that may already have been issued. Crawford County reserves the right to deny any claims based on their findings.

Responsibilities of the County Treasurer:
- Manage County Funds by receipting and accounting for monies received from taxpayers, departments, and government agencies. Disburse monies due employees, vendors, taxing jurisdictions and taxpayers.
- Invest County Funds to ensure security and achieve maximum returns while following guidelines set by County Board, State Statutes and County Investment Policy.
- Administer Property Tax Laws and Collect Property Taxes as outlined in the Wisconsin State Statues.
- Maintain Tax Billing and Collection History Records for archives and public inspection per open records law.
