Communicable Disease
Crawford County Public Health plays an important role in detecting, preventing, and controlling communicable diseases in the community. Public Health staff investigate and follow-up on all reportable communicable diseases and disease outbreaks in the county, educate and notify the public about disease outbreaks.
Public Health is responsible to follow up on persons diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections (STI’s). Individuals are interviewed, provided with education and preventative measures to help maintain health and wellness. Resources are made known and referrals are made as needed. Sexual contacts are attempted to be contacted and interviewed in the same manner with the goal being to stop spread of disease. Confidentiality is important and always maintained.
TB tests are available by appointment, cost is $10 for 1 step; $15 for 2 step
