The ADRC calendar of events includes but is not limited to all service(s) provided by this department and support groups.  For more information on a particular event or support group call ADRC at 608-326-0235.


 

July 2: Music on the River Cruise, Blend of folk, blues, and bluegrass of local musicians aboard the Mississippi Explorer Cruises, two hour cruise departs at 6:30 p.m., St. Feriole Island river front, Prairie du Chien, 1-877-647-7397. Ticket booth at Blackhawk & Main.

July 3: Effigy Mounds National Monument River Tour to Sny Magill Mounds, Board the Mississippi Explorer Cruises for a tour to an area seldom visited. Park Ranger will describe the history of these mounds. This five-hour cruise will depart at 8 a.m. from the St. Feriole Island river front, Prairie du Chien, 1-877-647-7397. Ticket booth at Blackhawk & Main.

July 3-4: Independence Day Celebration, Parade, flea market under the bridge, fireworks, and more, McGregor/Marquette, IA, 800-896-0910.

July 4: Fourth of July Celebration, Bagley, WI.

July 7: Arts in Park, Mississippi River Sculpture Park, St. Feriole Island, 6:30 p.m.

July 8: Monthly Diabetic Support Group Meeting, Gundersen Lutheran Clinic, 2:00 – 3:00 pm.  Discussion of questions people may have, share a snack and learn something about diabetes at every meeting.  No charge and everyone in the community is welcome.  Always the 2nd Thursday of the month. Any questions, call Nancy Stuart at 608-326-6466.

July 10: Chamber of Commerce Annual Fireworks, At dusk, St. Feriole Island, Prairie du Chien, 608-326-8555. A pork roast will be held on the island prior to the fireworks, proceeds from the roast will go to the Mississippi River Sculpture Park.

July 10-11: The War of 1812 Re-enactment, A historic encampment and battle re-enactment on Wisconsin’s only War of 1812 battlefield, now the lawn of the Villa Louis estate. Learn about the British assault on U.S. Fort Shelby in a battle scenario each afternoon. Tour the camps and learn about military life in 1814. Villa Louis Historic Site, St. Feriole Island, Prairie du Chien, admission charged, 608-326-2721.

July 13:  Crawford County Senior Citizens Potluck Picnic, Seneca Town Hall, 11:45 a.m.  Transportation available by calling the ADRC at 608-326-0235.

July 17: Great River Car Show & Cruise, Vintage cars compete for trophies, 50s and 60s music, McGregor/Marquette, IA, 800-896-0910.

 July 21-22: Arts for All Ages, Mississippi River Sculpture Park, St. Feriole Island, 6:30 p.m.

July 22-25: Crazy Days in Prairie du Chien, Take advantage of fantastic bargains as the merchants in Prairie du Chien get crazy with prices!

July 24: River Bluff Daze, Antique tractor pull, fireworks at dusk, food, www.visitferryville.com

July 31: Hole in the Sock Gang 1880 Street Theatre, The Old West comes alive in downtown McGregor, IA, with a reenactment of action-packed bank robberies, cowboy shootouts and saloon girls, free show, 800-896-0910.

July 30-31: Prairie Dog Blues Festival, Two stages in a park-like setting, international, national and regional blues bands performing. Camping on site. Event shuttle runs to motels in town. Event also includes ski team performance, food and beverage stands, various vendors with hand-made products, 608-326-0085, www.prairiedogblues.com, ticket hotline opens May 1, St. Feriole Island along the Mississippi River, Prairie du Chien, 888-567-1567

Cancer Support Group Meeting, Boscobel Area Health Care, 7:00 p.m.
             (Group meets five times a year March, May, July, September and November)

Cancer Support Group meets the fourth Monday of every month except December in the
             Polodna Room of the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital at 7 pm. Call Maria at 563-
            873-3641. Open to cancer patients, survivors, family and friends. 

Diabetic Support Group meets the second Thursday of the month 2-3 p.m. at Gunderson 
              Lutheran Clinic, Prairie du Chien 608-326-6466.  Contact Nancy Stuart.

Grief Counseling - Gunderson Lutheran Clinic - Prairie du Chien, 608-326-6466

Grief Support Group meetings offered by Prairie du Chien Hospice are on the first
             Thursday of the month at 7 pm and the third Tuesday of the month at 5 pm at Prairie
             du Chien Memorial.

PdC Memorial Hospital Foot Clinic:  Is offered once a month.  Private Pay,
            $24 for half hour.  Call 608-357-2000 Ext. 2299

Senior Citizen's Card Party at City Hall - play euchre each Mondays & Thursdays, 1 to-4 p.m. in
            Prairie du Chien City Hall Community Room.  Drop in for some fun and fellowship.
