Blend of folk, blues, and bluegrass of local musicians
aboard the Mississippi Explorer Cruises, two hour cruise

July 3: Effigy Mounds National Monument River Tour
to Sny Magill Mounds, Board the Mississippi Explorer Cruises
for a tour to an area seldom visited. Park Ranger will
describe the history of these mounds. This five-hour cruise
will depart at 8 a.m. from the St. Feriole Island river
front, Prairie du Chien, 1-877-647-7397. Ticket booth at

July 8: Monthly Diabetic Support Group Meeting,
Gundersen
Lutheran Clinic, 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Discussion of questions
people may have, share a snack and learn something about
diabetes at every meeting. No charge and everyone in the
community is welcome. Always the 2nd Thursday of

July 10: Chamber of Commerce Annual Fireworks,
At dusk, St. Feriole Island, Prairie du Chien, 608-326-8555.
A pork roast will be held on the island prior to the
fireworks, proceeds from the roast will go to the
Mississippi River Sculpture Park.
July 10-11: The War of 1812 Re-enactment,
A historic encampment and battle re-enactment on Wisconsin’s
only War of 1812 battlefield, now the lawn of the Villa
Louis estate. Learn about the British assault on U.S. Fort
Shelby in a battle scenario each afternoon. Tour the camps
and learn about military life in 1814. Villa Louis Historic
Site, St. Feriole Island, Prairie du Chien, admission
