The Crawford County Comprehensive Plan was developed by the Crawford
County Comprehensive Planning Sub-Committee in collaboration with
the Mississippi River Regional Plan Commission and the Crawford
County UW Extension Office. The plan was adopted January 2010.

The Crawford County Planning Subcommittee, a
division of the Land Conservation Planning and Zoning Committee, was responsible for preparing Crawford County’s Comprehensive Plan. The plan
meet the
state’s requirement that jurisdictions using zoning, subdivision
regulation or official mapping have an adopted plan in place
What is the comprehensive
plan?
A Comprehensive Plan is a document that describes a
community’s long term vision for the future. The plan describes what is
currently happening in a community, what residents want the community to
look like in 5-10 years, and how they intend to make it happen.
The plan includes nine elements:
● Issues and opportunities
● Agricultural, Natural and Cultural Resources
● Housing
● Economic Development
● Transportation
● Intergovernmental Cooperation
● Utilities and Community Facilities
● Implementation.
● Land Use
